3. Circe

and I'll regret these days for the rest of my time
and every little kiss stole a bit of my life
make me
you know you break me

you made a promise
and you meant it for sure
then another pretty face made his way through the door
I make you
you know I break you

and I don't want this
and I don't need this
it's another thing when your friends coming over
it's another thing when you love that boy

I won't, I won't be the enemy
I won't choose complacency
I won't be conveniencey
oh no, we've all changed
things will never be the same

you snuck by without touching the floor
got me quite relaxed, but there was so much more
we make these insufficiencies

you got scared while losing your grip
I took a little fall, and you started to slip
I make you
you know I break you

I don't want this
and I don't need this
It's another thing

Okey dokey more classical allusions. Circe the sorceress with whom Odysseus tarried overlong in his journey home. She kept him from his true calling, and yes, he let her keep him too long; it was hard to leave her in fact. I'm thinking our poet is writing about staying too long in a relationship that is all consuming.

Our poet is very aware and insightful. These lyrics have a great deal of weight to them. Wowsers.
