2. Muses

is a man doomed before he falls?
is a woman cursed before she crawls?
it's a question that defines us all
and is locked inside our brain

we're distracted by their feminine wiles
female lips can crush us with a smile
they erase us and put aces wild
like a card game in our souls

I can feel this playing out before me
I can feel my eyes turn marble white
I can feel this playing out before me, inside

we lightly waltz around
chemistry compounds
it doesn't change the sound of a two heart symphony

oh ye muses nine
heavenly creatures divine
from these few I've chosen mine
and from a tree she's hanging me

I don't want to do the things I do
In guilt there's essences of truth
every little kiss I gave away
belongs to me, on my lips where they should stay
I can feel this follow me around
it comes with the wind, and brings me back again

I don't know if things have changed, or if you really cared
you don't know what you put me through
you don't know what you put me through

I really like the classical and religious symbolism used here.
